What happens when circumstances

Leave us both alone

Out of control

We had plans laid out for a home

I’m not used to this

I never missed anything before

I thought that things would fade when I couldn’t see your face

I know you had to leave

But why do I feel so displaced?

I’m so far gone

And you’re so far away

I know you had to leave

But how I wish you stayed

Just because there’s clarity, doesn’t mean there’s closure

I know where you are, but that doesn’t bring us closer

I haven’t forgot a single promise I made

But I can’t make them happen

I’m back to grey, and you can’t bring the color back again

I used to find comfort in being hopeless

At least the emptiness seemed consistent

My faults, my mistakes

At least I’m the one who’s in control

But, I had a reason to change

To better myself for you although

To be my best for you, it was best for you to go
