We struggle to pay our way

Your lust for money’s wrong, it’s

Filled your veins with economics

And now your body pumps bad blood

How bland this sense can get

But you’re not mad enough just yet

I planned to save my time for good

But once when I was reaching for my wallet

I drew my heart out from an inside pocket

And spent my life before I’d understood

You found out today

Those steps were to a drum called hate

We’re learning today

New ways that we can pull our weight

We sense our strengths and powers

Slip from us with the passing hours

And still the clock ticks on the wall

How pulses cheat the years

But in this square-dance would you hear?

In vehicles built for cut and thrust

A long winding way

Down streets they’ve renamed Love and Trust

How landscape’s built on lies

Together today our bodies share an earthly use

We’ve only being alone to lose

The gaps they’ve yet to fill

We’ve got our hearts And time to kill

Young people today our love is the death

The death of the mistake!

It’s time to save our time for good !

It’s time to show we’ve understood !

On this day we come of age

And from this day we take our lives

In our own hands

Together we can build a home from hope
