You take the low-E string and the high-E

Tune 'em down both to D

Now take the A string and tune it down to G

Now the D, G, and B strings, oh just leave 'em be

Now what you got is called Open G

The guitar is tuned to D-G-D-G-B-D

Lay your finger 'cross the fifth fret like this, and that chord’s a C

Lay it across the seventh fret, that chord was a D

There’s a guitar called a Resonator 'cause it resonates

Some are made of wood, some are metal;

both reverberate

Now take a glass or brass slide that’s just the right weight

You take that slide and shake the jelly on the plate

So you take the low-E string and the high-E

You tune 'em down both to D

You take the A string, oh you tune it down to G

Now the D, G, and B strings, well just leave 'em be
