Are We Copies? - Lonely Robot

In the beginning,

we crawled the earth like ants

A simple forgiving,

born from circumstance

A need to learn,

a need to trust

A need to grow

is born of kindness

It seems elemental,

appears within a glance

Create reverential,

diminish sense of chance

When all you see

and all you trust

And all you fear,

is born of sadness

Are we copies?

Are we human after all?

Are we children,

just playing with the flaws?

Are we equals?

Are we measuring our pride?

Or lonely robots,

just staring deep inside?

So then came the judgement,

all hail the great remorse

And where is the architect,

did he steer a difference course?

As all we wish,

and all we gain

And all we lose,

is born of madness

Are we copies?

Are we human after all?

Are we children,

just playing with the flaws?

Are we equals?

Are we measuring our pride?

Or lonely robots,

just staring deep inside?

And so, the grand architect sits back and observes all.

Vast cathedrals of light spinning in infinity.

And we, cast down from the

ancient blueprint.

Scurrying across

this tiny anthill in mighty arcs of sound.

Please come home, lonely robot.

Your heart is beautiful,

programmed to receive.
