This Little House - Granger Smith

This little house has been good to me

It s a peaceful feeling just to turn the key

It s given warmth and security

And what more do we really need?

I ve seen every scratch and her every creek

Me and dad planted the maple tree

I put some miles on that old porch swing

Rocking to the rainy nights

And I don t know where I ll go from here

Or how the days turned to years

And I can t get sentimental cause I know only people make the home

But this little house has been good to me

I ve smelled birthday cakes and Christmas trees

I ve stacked dishes in that kitchen sink with grandma Thanksgiving Day

I thought I d live here for my kids to see

But life changes got the best of me

One day I ll drive em down this little street and show em my old stomping

grounds

And I don t know where I ll go from here

And how the days turned to years

And I can t get sentimental cause I know only people make the home

But this little house has been good to me

People come and go but it never leaves

It was raining as I packed so you couldn t see the tear drop when I drove away
