Well I got a little pickup

It used to be a Ford

Its quite a little sweetie, got a four on the floor

All the fellas used to race me

But they don’t anymore

Cause lately at the red line she just stalls

Nothing happens when I put it to the bar

Might be the alternator

Could be the coil

Well I got a little gal lives down the line

I pick her up every night at a quarter to nine

Lately when I get there she don’t want to go

She said shes tired of walking all the way home

I said, «I can explain»

She said, «I know

Took it to the garage, put a note on the door

My mama lives just around the corner

I take her to church every Sunday morning

Last Saturday night she called me up

Said, tomorrow son I think I’ll walk
