A stone skims the stream,

The rise and fall, the river rolls,

I turn and heaven’s here,

And to the ocean its only flood wall spray,

Where starlings swirl round an ice cream girl,

It’s like I’ve found my way,

Where I can breathe,

And take a path that leads,

Down through the trees,

Catch Autumn leaves until I’m remedied,

Run,

Run like you’ve become the wind,

Come run rings around my heart,

On a melody that breezes in,

If there’s chaos where there should be calm

Find comfort in the false alarm,

Oh and run like the wind.

The smoke that rose from sands

these hopeful hands with best laid plans

in prayer for a lucky year

And as orange sets,

Around a jumbo jet

And paints a silhouette

On the barefoot tread,

The sound of a shifting gear.

But hold that stone,

It’s got problems of its own,

It’s got history and a chequered flight,

But stones hold schemes,

It doesn’t matter where they’ve been,

It’s the places that they’re going and the way that they attract the light.
