Dust against the window pane

My hands are trembling in shock

Tremendous was the pain

But theirs was all the worse

Never again, to be defiled or hurt

I stand above them both

Lamenting crying, cold

A tired wretched soul

Begging for a friend

Crushed by the weight

Don’t want to be so scarred and scared

You captured and you killed

You took all that I had

Crushed by the weight

Don’t want to be so frail and weak

I’ve got nowhere to go

And nothing left to gain

I’m taking off my clothes alone

The river shines the moonlight

I walk into the stream

And disappear beneath

Never again, to be defiled and weak

I drift below it all

Waiting emptied, and

A warm and friendly face

Enters in my soul

Crushed by the weight

Don’t want to be so scarred and scared

You came into my mind

You gave me precious time

Crushed by the weight

Don’t want to feel so frail and small

But now I have the chance

To recover in time

Inhabit my spirit

I trust you to keep me safe

Use this body well

I know you care for me

With your help I know I’ll be

A normal man again

On whom you can depend
