Flaying for my lunch

I hunger for dark meat

Sifting through sacred earth

My shovel hits the casket door

Nocturnal exhumation

On skin and bone I’ll gnaw

Dig up a grave, I desecrate

Dig in for a corpse to masticate

Blackened flesh, peeling skin

Hypostasis long set in

Mummified scraps licked from wood

Dearly departed you taste so good

Scanning the obituaries

I soon learn of your fate

Feeding on your rotten rump

Your coffin lid is my plate

Sawing through your vertex

To remove your liquid brain

Sluicing through my fingers

Not feeling any shame
