I got a Death Hawk on my trail.

Hammer down the coffin nail.

And the death hawk’s getting to my tail.

My sweet soul it ain´t going to save.

Death Hawk’s got a black eye,

it can smell the coming carrion.

The Hawk is on its harvest fly

and it ain´t no vegetarian.

Hammer down the nail!

Oh how the dogs they howl,

when the hawk has come to town.

And there ain’t no remedy,

for the wealthy or the peasantry.

And the rain is coming down.

Some drops as big as pearls,

some as fine as mist

the claw grabs you from the wrist
