I have learnt

To love those who surround me

To not be quite so selfish

To warm the cold

That manifests

I let you sink into the mattress

But I won’t let you fill my lungs

You left the light on

When you knew I weren’t coming home

It still resonates with me

When I have no where to go

My room was full of trophies

And pictures bearing smiles

And now it’s graced with self doubt

And a resent for this lifestyle
