Grip - Among Them

That moment in time, as worlds collide

Two newfound lovers by each other’s side

Making plans for the future, all the places they’ll see

A perfect picture of duality

But there’s darkness calling

As silently an affliction befalls him

Imminent is it’s horror

She’s unaware of the sadness before her

Quietly strikes a sickness within his blood

Here marks the end of the man that was

Powerless now, they wait as an unseen evil

Brings him to the ground

She looks into his fading eyes

To catch a glimpse of the mortal inside

She’s met with an empty, dying face

What she cherished can’t be replaced

Left wandering, a field of empty space

Above her the birds won’t sing

And the sky will forever be dim

All she can do is watch him fade

While she begs in vain, «please no

Not my lover, why was it him can’t you take any other?»

Sickness conquers

It takes away one and empties the others

Alone now she will remain

Affected by the deepest of pain

Finally his sufferings at an end

The Others have taken him

Stand back, watch her suffer

Trembling down on her knees

The infinite void is beckoning
